This pattern was written as part of a kit, which included approx. 500 yards of super bulky thick and thin handspun yarn. The kits aren’t available anymore, but you could certainly spin for one of these shawls!

You’ll need:

  • approx. 1 lb.+/500 yards of super bulky thick and thin single ply
  • size 13 (9 mm) 24” or 36” circular needle, or whatever size you need to get gauge 8-9 sts. per 4” (length of needle not terribly important, but the shawl gets very long and heavy, so a longish circular is needed)
  • a size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
  • darning needle for weaving in ends
