I designed this mini hammock to be fashionable, yet functional. Its beautiful design is very versatile and would be a great wall organizer in your kitchen, nursery, dorm room, bathroom, or recreational vehicle. The lacy stitch pattern gives an incredible amount of stretch and is a great way to utilize vertical space. For a full video tutorial, see: https://youtu.be/QaI4K2GT6SQ

Supplies Needed:

  • Cotton yarn in sport weight (size 3), such as Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend or Lion Brand Coboo. The lighter weight cotton makes it look daintier, but you could realistically use heavier cotton. 150-175 yards are needed for the smaller hammock and 240-265 yards for the larger hammock. (Note: You could also use acrylic yarn, but I do not recommend it if it will be near moisture. It will also stretch quite a bit.)
  • Crochet hook of your choice (I used a size H 5.0 mm for both sizes).
  • 15-20 mm wooden beads of your choice (5 for the smaller hammock, 7 for the larger hammock).
  • Scissors, measuring tape, and yarn needle.
  • Fray Check (optional).
  • Wooden rings (optional): size 2” (45 mm) for larger hammock and size 1.6” (40 mm) for the smaller hammock. I have purchased mine from Amazon in an assortment bag and also in individual bags at Hobby Lobby.
