This cuddly little hippo is knitted predominantly in stockinette, with a single crochet chain for their tail. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, most pieces are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Stylecraft Special Double Knit; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; up to 50g in blue

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling and buttons for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The hippo is 11cm high x 13cm long x 7cm wide.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
