These miniature Christmas stockings were designed in a year that calls out desperately for hope and cheer … 2020.

It’s my hope that knitting these merry little stockings will transmit a bit of cheer to you and yours, whether you use them as ornaments in your home or as a vessel to hold a gift for someone else.

They are quick to knit and incredibly adaptable. The pattern includes instructions for adding contrast-color heels, toes, and top, striping, and an optional knit-in I-cord hanger.

Knit in the specified yarn and stitches, this pattern makes 6” long miniature stockings, but the pattern also includes instructions for adapting to any yarn weight and number of stitches, including a full-size stocking.

This pattern also includes directions for invisible toe-up cast-on, shadow-wrap short rows, jogless stripes in the round, single row (or helical) jogless stripes, I-cord, and the back-loop bind off.
