Hopper is an asymmetric triangle shawl with an easy lace and cable pattern. You can make the cable border as wide as you would like and can even knit the entire shawl in this pattern. The sample was knit with Bee Bop from Dancing Leaf Dyeworks in the Hopper colorway, hence the name. While the sample was knit in DK weight, this pattern can be knit in any weight from fingering to worsted. This pattern works well with solids, semi-solids, tonals, and lightly speckled yarns. The pattern would be lost in heavily variegated yarns so I do not recommend them for this project.

Materials
Yarn - Bee Bop from Dancing Leaf Dyeworks, 186 yds (170 m),
4 skeins (a smaller shawl can be knit using 3 skeins) OR approximately 550-750 yards of DK weight yarn

Needles - US size 6 (4 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge below. 32” circular recommended

Gauge - 22 sts by 24 rows over 4”/10 cm blocked in lace and cable pattern. Gauge is not overly important as long as you are happy with the fabric.

Finished size - 39” deep and 68” across the top (increased) edge

Miscellaneous- one stitch marker for written directions, cable needle (opt.), darning needle to weave in ends
