This set has a hat and a pair of baby booties, to go with the caterpillar cardigan.
Sizes are given for chest sizes 14 inch up to and including 24 inch or 0-3 month up to 3-4 years.

There are several options available to you. Instruction for each choice included.

Knit the caterpillar using intarsia or stranded method, or he can be knitted separately and sewn on later. A chart is provided for the first option.

Choose a plain hat or one with caterpillar features.

Booties for the first few sizes, again plain or caterpillar ones.

Shoulder seams can be cast off and seamed, or held and grafted using the Kitchener Stitch.

Jacket is knitted from the bottom up, worked on circular needles for comfort, but knitted flat. Work is then divided at the underarms, with
stitches for sleeves being picked up and worked in the round.

Hat is worked in the round as are booties.

Materials needed:

3.25mm circular needle
4mm Circular needle. ( jacket could be made on straights if preferred, but sleeves, hat & booties are made using a circ and then later DPN’s in the same sizes )
Buttons
Tiny amount of stuffing if making the antenna on either hat or booties.
DK (tester also used a worsted for a slightly bigger version)
Amounts will vary according to size and whether the complete set is required, but for guidance I used 66g cream, 46g meadow and less than 20g of each other colour for cardigan. Hat: 10g for rib, 20g for body of hat. when making the largest size.

Colour choices are yours. I used 3 different greens and a cream for my main colour, with red for the caterpillar head and hat.
I used a green/blue colour mix for my second choice, together with cream and red.
