In living color cowlcho. A simply fabulous cowl/poncho~

With the Picot stitch cast on, create the bottom border first in a textured boucle, then join in the round and knit various sized ribbing patterns to decrease your cowl toward the top edge/ neckline in a self striping yarn. This project grows really fast in an aran weight yarn.
The pattern is fully written. The unblocked dimensions are 49“ in bottom circumference, 16“ in height and 22“ around the neckline, when knitted to gauge.

Yarns used here
C1 - A thick and thin Boucle yarn in an aran weight for the Picot cast on and also the finish. 20 yards.
C2 - A wound Wheely cake, the squishiest yarn in a self striping aran weight. 165 yards.

Notions needed
US size 13 (9 mm) circular needle, 20”
(51 cm) in length.
1 Stitch marker to mark beginning of round.
Darning needle or crochet hook for finishing.

Gauge
10 sts and 14 rows in 4” of stockinette stitch done in the straight aran weight/C2 yarn.

Techniques applied
Knitting flat with a picot cast on, joining in the round, changing colors, decreasing, binding off loosely with two yarns held together, weaving in ends.
