The Isle Pullover is designed with a mock neck collar, sleeve & side stripes, tall split hem ribbing and boxy fit. It’s all in the details – making the Isle Pullover a cozy and elevated piece for your closet than can be dressed up or down.

Construction

The Isle Pullover is worked top down with a tall collar, short row neck shaping and 8 points of increases throughout the yoke. The slim sleeves are worked in 1x1 ribbing with a decorative stripe down each side and folded cuffs. The boxy body is worked in stockinette stitch while carrying a stripe of 1x1 rib down each side from the underarm. The body is split to work the front and back hem in 1x1 ribbing with a smaller needle size.

Skills

This is a written pattern assuming intermediate sweater knitting knowledge and is not intended to be beginner friendly. Supplemental research or practice to learn new skills may be required to complete this project.

This pattern requires a working knowledge of: knitting & purling both flat & in the round, german short row shaping, increasing, decreasing, tubular bind off.

Circular needles are used to work in the round, starting with 16” (40 cm) for the cast-on and switching to longer cable lengths as the yoke grows. The sleeves are made with the smallest cable length or preferred short circumference needles i.e DPNs or magic loop.

Cast-on, bind-off, and short row methods suggested in this pattern are able to be substituted with any other method.
