JANTJE tee is made from a cotton, viscose and linen blend yarn that is perfect for summer and has a lovely drape to it. Since this material is not as light in weight as wool is, it creates the illusion of a shaped waist even though JANTJE is knitted straight from the bottom up. The flaired sleeves are picked up after the shoulder seams are closed and form a nice contrast to the otherwise perpendicular design of the lace strip that is crossed by purl ridges.

I love to wear this airy and super comfortable top over summer shorts if I want a casual look or tucked into a high-waisted skirt for a look that is a little more elegant.

I hope you will like it just as much as I do! Happy knitting!

This pattern went through technical editing and test knitting. I was not able to find testers for the sizes 2XS, XS, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL though. If you are interested in testing one of these sizes, please send me a message.

SIZES
2XS (XS, S, M) (L, XL, 2XL) (3XL, 4XL, 5XL)

with bust circumference of finished garment:
66.5 (77, 87.5, 98) (108.5, 119, 129.5) (140, 150.5, 161) cm
26 (30.25, 34.5, 38.5) (42.75, 46.75, 51) (55.25, 59.25, 63.5) “

JANTJE tee is intended to be worn with 3-5cm / 1.25-2” of positive ease around the bust.
Pictured is a size M on a 95 cm / 37.5” bust with 3cm of positive ease.

YARN
4 (4, 6, 6) (8, 10, 10) (12, 14, 14) skeins of Sandnes Garn Tynn Line (50g, 220m / 240yds) in color 6554 (petrol)
This a double strand project. Two strands of yarn are held together throughout the entire project.

NEEDLES
4.5mm and 4mm needles (or size to obtain gauge with)

GAUGE
19 sts and 28 rounds = 10cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch with purl ridge and the lace stript should have a width of appx. 4.75 cm / 1.75”.

Wash and block your swatch before measuring. My experience with this yarn is that it gains width and looses length after washing.

TOOLS
A tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in the ends, 2 stitch markers and a third needle of larger size for the Three Needle Bind-Off.
