Jellico Cats Shawl

Three cats to charm you, amuse you, and occasionally remind you that they are entirely in charge. Each feline has its own unique personality, just as every cat should.

The inspiration for this shawl came in the middle of the night. At 2:00 AM I awoke to find three cats sitting on my bed. They informed me, “You’re knitting us next.”

“I can’t,” I replied. “I’m already working on another design.”

Their response was immediate and unanimous: “You’re knitting us next.”

As every cat owner knows, arguing with cats is futile. The next shawl I finished was Jellico Cats.

Each cat panel is knit individually, allowing every feline to shine before the panels are joined together with an elegant cat’s paw lace pattern. The border is worked last to beautifully frame the finished shawl.

The pattern is fully charted for knitters who enjoy working from charts.
