This cowl is a joyful knit through each section. Though the pattern is simple enough for adventurous beginning knitters, more experienced knitters will most likely encounter at least one new stitch pattern or technique they haven’t used before. There are many helpful video links throughout the pattern.

You may use a mini skein kit or bust your fingering weight stash with this pattern. The approximate yardage for each color is listed below. I’ve also provided the order of the colors so that you may plan for using more or fewer colors as desired or necessary.

Solids, tonals, and mild variegates will be the best match for this pattern. Yarn thicknesses can vary even within a given yarn weight. Please make sure you’re working with similar weight yarns throughout (especially if you’re stash busting).

Materials:
• Fingering weight yarn, such as Manos del Uruguay Fino Mini Skein Set, or madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (approx. 348 yds, 319 m)
o C1 (98 yds, 90 m)
o C2 (45 yds, 41 m)
o C3 (60 yds, 55 m)
o C4 (85 yds, 78 m)
o C5 (60 yds, 55 m)
• Size 6 (4.0 mm) circular needles (20”/50 cm length)
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers
• Optional: approx. 85 6/0 beads for Clue #4

Gauge: 22.5 sts = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch, blocked –Exact gauge isn’t critical, but changes in gauge will affect finished size and yardage requirements.
