Shaping in this textured cowl is accomplished by working more and more dense ribbing as you work in the round from the bottom up. Top and bottom edges are softened by a gentle stockinette roll. Blocking is optional – blue sample has been blocked, green one has not.

Measurements
Approximately 25” around at the base, 21” around at the top, and 8” tall unblocked. You can ‘uncrumple” it as much as you like if you block

Materials
275 yards of worsted-weight yarn
US 6/4 mm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge with a length of 24” or less
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Note
If you like the 3D texture of the unblocked cowl, do not block aggressively (or at all). If you do block, you can smooth things out and get a flatter cowl that will also be a bit taller and bigger around.

This pattern was originally released as the 2022 Just for You 9 MKAL. See the thread here.

Green sample was knit in Knit Picks High Desert in Willow; Blue sample was knit in Miss Babs’ Intrepid in Fogbound
