Bold Knights & Fearsome Maidens balaclava

SIZES: Adult size: from top to lower edge 12” (30 cms)
9 – 14 years: 10.25” (26 cms)
3 – 8 years: 9.25” (23 cms)

Knitted flat. Starting at the neck base with a rib band, the body is knitted in a rectangle before being shaped by wrap and turn rows to ensure a snug fit. The chin cup is then added, again shaped by short rows, the hat is then sewn together.
One skein is sufficient for adult size. The rib ensures it will fit men and women

Bodacious Babes balaclava

Overall height 10.5” (26 cms), face opening 6.5” (16 cms) tall
instructions given to make smaller

Knitted flat. Starting at the bottom, a ribbed neck is worked. You then divide for the sides of the hat, working each piece individually before casting back on at the top of the face ‘window’. The top of the hat is then shaped using K2 decreases before being drawn together through the remaining sts and joined on the back seam. Stitches are then picked up around the ‘window’ and a ribbed edging is worked in smaller needles, to ensure a good fit.
A half skein is sufficient.
