This little free pattern was added to my blog on June 15th 2007 but as my blog, along with all other typepad blogs was deleted in October 2025 by typepad I have made a new downloadable PDF file to share.

The original pattern has been linked to from numerous sources across the internet and is also known as the 45 minute flower pattern.

This is a free pattern for a little flower decoration.
It takes less than an hour to make and is great for using up small scraps of yarn.
It can be used singly or grouped to make a posy.
Knitting it in green will give you a shamrock / lucky clover.
You can use it on on my knitted cupcake pattern, as shown above,
on clothing and accessories or sewn onto a hairband or hairslide.
I’m sure there are lots of other uses too and I hope you have fun experimenting.
