The Knowledge is Key shawl is based upon the Adinkra Symbol for knowledge  and continual learning, challenging the knitter to think about their work and excel at reading their stitches. The pattern is written as one pattern but by choosing the larger needle size one creates the large size.

As a young ADHD child, I was constantly in need of something to challenge my brain, the rhythm of knitting somehow soothed my mind into a state of focus. However, I found that the repetition of rows became my downfall. When I began to dive into projects beyond my skillset, the desire for new information kept me going. I hope this shawl will inspire others in the same way.

Note: there is potential to get a considerably larger shawl in both sizes if one is careful to allow a lot of slack in the yarn on large slipped sections.
