KORO KORO

コロコロ (from Japanese) - rolling, welting

This slip-stitch shawl is another relative from the family of KOKO and LOLO designs that I have created. This right-sided triangular shawl is created tip up and is worked using alternating stripes of color. All while combining basic stitches that become intuitive and repetitive as this satisfying 3D texture begins to emerge! Addictive in its nature, you won’t be able to put your needles down until it is finished, and being a DK-weight project this shawl will be knit in a blink of an eye!

SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Wingspan approx. 77” / 195 cm
Depth approx. 27” / 68.5 cm
Both measurements were taken once the shawl was dry after washing and blocking.

YARN
North Light Fibers “Water Street DK” (60% super fine merino wool, 40% cashmere); approx 165 yds (151 m)/ 2 oz (57 g);

Grellow shawl:
Color A - Pebble (charcoal) - 3 skeins.
Color B - Goldenrod (mustard) - 3 skeins.

Pink and grey shawl:
Color A - Quartz (pink) - 3 skeins.
Color B - Pussy Willow (grey) - 3 skeins

OR approx. 575 yds/526 m color A and 575 yds/526 m color B in any other DK weight yarn.

Note: Almost all of the original yarn was used. If you wish to swatch, make sure not to cut the yarn from the swatch. Instead, work your shawl from opposite ends of the yarn cakes and unravel the swatch if needed.

This shawl is easily adaptable to make it larger or smaller. Please account for extra yardage that might be required.
