Kulusuk Christmas Balls are worked in the round from the center out. You begin by working a provisional cast on. Then you work the first half in textured pattern according to chart – you will find five different patterns to choose from. Then unravel the provisional cast on and work the second half while inserting the styrofoam ball.
After knitting, embroider through the purl bumps on the surface/right-side of the work. Take good care when working the purl stitches! They must be placed accurately for the embroidery to succeed. Finally you crochet a small loop to hang your christmas ball on the tree.
