LEAVES AND STRIPES is a large crescent shaped shawl that can be wrapped around the neck several times. The pattern combines an asymmetrical shawl concept with brioche knitting. The first section is worked with symmetrical increases, from which the pattern continues. The one part features small stripes and a straight brioche pattern and the other part a floral pattern which gives the shawl its feminine design.

What I really love about this shawl? It´s perfect size, shape and color - it is made of three skeins of fingering weight yarn by Madelinetosh: a light and a dark speckled color and a bright color for the edge section. Due to its asymmetrical shape, you don´t have to count too much and above all pattern allows some mindless knitting to travel with … and I love to wear it!

Repetitive increases are giving the shawl its crescent shape. Using the bright color applied I-cord is then worked across for a clean finish! You end up with a large, gentle curved feminine shawl. I am sure, you will love it!

Thanks to my wonderful and fearless test knitters! This collaboration was very helpful and it’s so exciting to see all your beautiful projects!
