Let It Snow Beanie
This is my entry for #designwithganga challenge hosted by Ganga Acrowools for Indian makers / designers.
The inspiration behind this pattern is my first experience with snowfall in the Sonmarg, Kashmir valley and the longing to experience it again! Where I stay, in Mumbai, temperature hardly drops below 20 degrees Celsius so there is always childlike curiosity and happiness around “Snowfall/Snowflakes”.
This pattern uses current trending crochet technique i.e. mosaic overlay to create snowflake pattern on the main body of hat. This technique gives you the opportunity to crochet two/more colour patterns without changing yarn in one row or round.
It uses bottom up approach to make the beanie.
Measurement: Based on 75 rows (ribbing section): 48cm / 19in, headband will be stretchy, fits hatsize 60 to 64 cm/ 23.5in to 25in
Height with pompom: 28.5cm/11in
This pattern is written for a adult size beanie, the repeat in this pattern is 15 st. There are 5 repeats. Increasing the space between snowflake by 1 st (× 5) can get you a wider brim too!
Hope you will like making the Beanie!
