I received this lovely yarn as a gift from my knitting friend Louise a while ago, but I couldn’t decide what to knit with it.

Finally I decided on this triangular mesh shawl that is perfect for summer days and evenings since it is made from 100% raw silk. The colour is just beautiful. This shawl is fairly easy to knit and it advances quite quickly. It is knitted bottom up and it takes one skein of yarn, or approximately 350 meters or 382 yards.

This is not your regular, triangular shawl. It is a bit deep since there are only a couple of increases every second row, but it drapes very nicely as you can see on the pictures. You can make this shawl any length depending on the amount of yarn that you have. Variegated yarns would work well also.

For this project the gauge is not that important, so you can use any yarn that you have in your stash.

Happy knitting!
