Lior the Lion is a gentle soul who likes to observe. Lior sits perfectly on a shelf - is part of my shelfie collection - but is also a big fan of little cuddles!

Lior is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Lior the Lion is approximately 13cm tall (5 inches).

You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).

Please contact me immediately if you have purchased this pattern thinking it is an actual toy as I do not process refunds after the PDF file has been downloaded.

Materials:

  • 2.75mm hook/C-2 (US)
  • 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 50g yarn in MAIN COLOUR, less than 50g yarn BRIGHT COLOUR
  • BLACK and WHITE 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

  • Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton.

  • When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.

  • Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.

  • For this pattern, the following yarns were used: o MAIN COLOUR = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK “Col. 417 Melon Sorbet” o BRIGHT COLOUR = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK “Col. 416 Red Wine”

  • I have used embroidered the eyes for this pattern but you may choose to use safety eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
