Liquid Sunshine
Spring rains patter down, the sparks of light gleaming off the drops the only sunshine seen on a cloudy day
Designed for Ewe and I Yarns for the PNW Yarn crawl. This shawl begins with mesh and ends with a double row of edging. Beads can be placed in the edging to weigh down the points and add that extra bit of sparkle.
Materials:
Yarn: Sport weight, 200g/656yd
Beads(optional): 85 of size suitable for yarn
Hook: H/5.0mm or a size that will give a nice drape. If you tend to crochet loosely, go down a size or two, if you are a tight crocheter, go up a size or two. I, as an extremely loose crocheter, used an E hook, both my testers used an H.
Gauge: Gauge is not strictly essential for this pattern, fabric should have a nice drape and stretch. Too tight, and it won’t block properly. However, the yardage for this is very close to two 100g skeins of yarn, so I have given a gauge, done in the half-herringbone stitch so that yardage can be estimated. There are also notes in the pattern as to rows that can be left out if you are running short on yarn.
