Made in soft fingering weight merino wool, Lotus Cowl features an
asymmetrical lace pattern panel on stockinette stitch background. It is
simple, elegant and fun to knit. The pattern is available on its own or as

To make the cowl larger or smaller, add or subtract a multiple of 7 sts.

Gauge (measured after blocking)
• Lace pattern: 1 pattern repeat of 7 sts and 8 rows is 3.4 cm/ 1.3 in wide
and 2.3 cm/ 0.9 in high, with main needle
• Stockinette st: 23 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm/ 4 in, with main needle

Materials
Yarn:
600 m/ 660 yds of fingering weight yarn.
Shown in Malabrigo Sock (100% merino wool; 402 m/ 440 yds per 100g skein, col. 120 Lotus)
Needles and notions:
• main needle: 3.75 mm (US size 5) circular needle, at least 60 cm/ 24 in
long
• smaller needle: circular needle one size smaller than main needle, for ribbing
• 2 stitch markers
