Magnolia Tee is a summer top made with the top down method, so from top to bottom, without seams.
It is a very simple pattern, suitable even for beginners, since only basic knitting stitches are used.
No short rows are used in this pattern.
You start from the neck, working back and forth for some rows while making the small slit in the central part of the front.
Then you join the work in the round and continue with simple increases along the raglans.
At the lower part of the body, you can choose whether or not to make side slits.
Finally, the sleeves are only framed by a garter stitch border.

Needles:

  • 3.5 mm (US 4, UK 10) 32”/60 cm for neckline and the first part of yoke (working flat back and forth in rows).
  • 4 mm (US 6, UK 8) 32”/60 cm and 40”/80 cm for yoke and body (working in the round).
  • 3.5 mm (US 4, UK 10)16” or magic loop method for sleeves hems in garter stitch.

Other notions:
Tapestry needle, 9 stitch markers (one of a different color to denote BOR), scrap yarn or stitch holders, measuring tape.

Gauge:
21 sts x 29 rounds to 4”/10 cm on 4 mm (US 6, UK 8) needles in Stockinette Stitch.

If your swatch doesn’t match ours, change needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
