Malacologie is an hybrid hat that is both crochet and knit in a 1920’s flapper style.

This girly hat shows a crocheted hem embellished by a shell crocheted as you go and then the crown is knitted in the round. It is made in one piece, no seaming is needed (note that you can sew the shell so it lay flat but this is optional).

The child size fits approx. 3-5 years old, but check measurements to be sure.

The crochet part requires an intermediate level and the knit part, a beginner level.

Crochet gauge is 17st/10cm (4inches) in urchin stitch (explained in pattern).

A big big thank you to all my testers! <3<3<3
