These armwarmers have a striking ribbed pattern that radiates out from the inside forearm and converges on the outside forearm. The thumb shaping grows cunningly out of the radiating ribs.

Now available through the above link in English and German (Deutsch), thanks to the translation skills of Spiro.

This pattern is free for personal use. If you really love it, you can tip me on Ko-fi.

The original yarn specified is discontinued. Any fingering weight yarn with some elasticity should be fine. If you’d use it to knit socks, you can use it to knit Marywarmers.

Errata:
The original pattern published in Australian Knitting magazine has errors in the “Left thumb gap and join” section, rounds 117-120. (The PDF available through Ravelry includes the corrected instructions.)

The correct instructions for rounds 117-120 are:

R117: Work 17 st in straight 2x2 rib pattern as for plain cuff, slip next 18 st onto waste yarn or stitch holder, CO 8 st, rejoin round and work to end of round in straight 2x2 rib.
R118: Work 17 st in straight 2x2 rib, P8, work to end of round in straight 2x2 rib.
R119: Work 17 st in straight 2x2 rib, P2tog 4 times, work to end of round in straight 2x2 rib.
R120: Work 17 st in straight 2x2 rib, P2tog 2 times, work to end of round in straight 2x2 rib.
Result: 72 st remain.
