Please note there is also a Marzanna 3/4 shawl version. You can purchase both versions as a bundle for $10 simply by adding both of them to your cart at the same time.

The Marzanna Triangle Shawl is a smaller triangular version of the original Marzanna 3/4th shawl. Named after the Slavic goddess of winter, life cycles, and fertility, this shawl series is also a nod to my Polish ancestry. Marzanna is said to represent the various transitions of mortal life and of death leading to rebirth. It is her death each spring that allows for the birth of Lada, her Spring incarnation. The cycle of Marzanna and Lada reminds us that you cannot have birth without death, cycles of light must also come with dark. This triangle shawl is both lightweight and oh so warm. Perfect for layering, to wrap around your shoulders around the fire, or worn as an oversized neck scarf, this is a versatile and beautiful piece that is both functional and stunning.

NOTES:

  • For pattern support, please email wolfandfaunknits@gmail.com

  • Yardage for this pattern can vary greatly if blocked gauge or yarn choice varies from the original design. Please keep that in mind and consider swatching prior to knitting to avoid disappointment.

  • For the striped body portion, be sure to carry the yarn you are not currently working up the side with the working yarn for neat edges. -If you are using the yarn used in the sample, you will notice that the MC uses up almost the entire skein. If you are concerned you may not have enough and do not particularly like a game of yarn chicken, Brook Farm Fingering yarn comes in mini skeins as well. I suggest buying one 25g skein if you think you may need it.
