This summery vest for women is inspired by the shores of Lake Michigan. Sleeveless for hot summer days, the simple lines and fresh stripes represent the cooling waves and the blue water and sky.
The vest begins at the lower edge with a provisional cast-on and a turned edging. Once the edging is completed, the body is worked in one piece in the round to the armholes. Waist shaping is included, and there are notes about where you might wish to work horizontal bust darts for extra bust shaping if needed. At the armholes, the front and back are divided and worked separately, then joined with a three-needle cast-off at the shoulders. Finally stitches are picked up around the armholes and the neck and a simple edging is worked.
Sizes are based on bust measurement. The vest is intended to be worn with no ease at the bust, so choose the size closest to your high bust measurement. If you are a B-cup or above, you may wish to add bust darts for extra room at the bust. (Written guidance included)
