Are they knit-worthy?**
This is a question that most knitters ask at some point. While we understand that there are very few people who will truly grasp the time and effort that knitting requires, if they use it, then this to me, is all that matters.
Shortly after we arrived in the UK, my brother-in-law asked me for a hat. I had made him a Cape Point Hat before. He told me he had loved his hat and was totally gutted the day he had left it on the train. He had seen it on the seat as the train pulled out of that station. Mike 2.0 is the replacement hat I designed for him (I also knitted him another Cape Point hat, so now he has 2 hats)
Looking through their family photos, with my sister, I saw that he wore the original hat a lot. From fetching their Christmas tree in December to holiday in New Zealand in the snow, the hat would regularly pop up in photos. This made me really glad, my brother-in-law is now on my knit-worthy list.

The Mike 2.0 is a unisex hat and is knitted in the round. You have the choice of a more fitted beanie or a slouchy style hat. Instructions for both are included in the pattern.

The hat starts with a stretchy cast on, I recommend the German Twisted Cast on, but you can use any stretchy cast on you prefer. The 2x2 rib gives the hat a nice fit over the head. The body of the hat is worked in blocks of alternating pattern and stocking stitch sections. This pattern integrates up into the decreases making a star shaped crown.
