The Millie’s hat pattern came about after a friend of my son and daughter-in-law had her first baby girl, Millie. I heard the name, Millie, and was instantly inspired to knit baby Millie this hat.

The Millie hat is a stockinette stitch beanie with a mock baby cable brim.

The brim can be knit as narrow or as wide as you like using the mock baby cable 4 round repeat. I knit 3 repeats (12 rounds) of the baby cable for the preemie and baby sizes, and 4 repeats (16 rounds) for the toddler size.

Sizes given for: Preemie (baby, toddler) to fit 10” (13, 15)” head circumference.

I knit all hats with Swans Island Organic Sport Weight. Any yarn can be used when gauge is followed.
