Like Fidra, Mirren is a quick and fun knit combining more garter stitch texture (which looks so good in this yarn) with an easy garter based cable (from Norah Gaughan’s Knitted Cable Sourcebook) and only using one skein of Quarry!

Size
20 ½ inches circumference at brim and 8 ¾ inches tall from brim to crown

US 8/5mm 16-inch circular needle
US 10/6mm 16-inch circular needle
US 10/6mm set of dpn’s or long circular needle (if prefer using magic loop)

Yarn
130 yards chunky weight yarn (30 or so extra yards needed if adding a pom pom)

Construction
This hat begins at the brim with ribbing and is knit bottom up with a cable pattern and crown shaping. Both written and charted instructions are provided.
