This modular cowl is knitted with three colors of wool in garter st. But it could be easily made with just two colors or with 4 colors. The cowl measures 41” in diameter by 9” high. The cowl is begun in the middle using a provisional cast on.

Most of the body of the cowl is constructed with small modular squares formed by decreasing the center three sts of the square to 1 st. You start knitting from two sides and end up on the opposite corner. The ridges of the squares alternate colors.

Since the cowl used multiple colors, the required yardage is an estimate.
