I love a knitting challenge, especially one that involves looking at a piece constructed in fabric and interpreting it for knitting. This design was inspired by a ready-to-wear infinity cowl sewn in a lacey zigzag woven fabric. A knitted lace stitch with pattern rows on both sides provides a zigzag within the body of the piece and lovely points along the edges. Wear it in a long loop on a sunny day, then double it up at the neck for a breezy evening. The yummy merino softness of Louet Gems adds to the experience.

Yarn Requirements: Louet Gems Fingering Weight 100% Merino Wool (185 yd per 50g skein); shown in #72 Sea Foam Green, 3 skeins

Needles: US 4 3.5 mm straight needles, or size needed to obtain gauge; 20” circular needle one or two sizes smaller than project needles

Notions: Waste yarn, Size E 3.5 mm crochet hook, Tapestry needle

Notes: Project is worked in one piece starting with a provisional cast on with waste yarn. After working to the specified length, live stitches are grafted to provisional cast on. Selvedges are worked in garter stitch with the first stitch slipped on every row.
