Knit out of squishy but durable worsted weight wool, this set is warm and stylish. Make the mittens fancy with cables, which echo the architectural lines and curves of southern Spain, or keep it simple but elegant with arched rib and plain hand.

Yarn: Unwind Yarn Company, Wanderlust Worsted, 100% American Raised and Milled Targhee wool, 344 yds/141g in the Eire color way
Sizes: Woman’s (S/M), Woman’s (M/L)
Gauge: 20 sts and 30 rows per 4” (10cm) on larger needles.
Needles: Size 7/4.5mm and 8/5mm dpns or circular for magic loop, or size required to obtain gauge.
Notions: Waste yarn, tapestry needle, stitch markers, cable needle if desired, 2 safety pins or small stitch holders.


round 8: p1, p2tog, p1, k4, p1, p2tog, p1, ssk, k8(12), k2tog (20,24 sts)

round 9: p1, p2tog, p1, sl next 2 sts to R needle, pass 1st slipped st over 2nd st (you have decreased by one), return that st to L needle, k that st, p1, p2tog, p1, ssk, k2(4), k2tog, k2(4), k2tog (14,18 sts)

round 10: remove beg of round m, p1, p2tog, p1, p2tog, p1, ssk, k3(7), k2tog (10,14 sts)
