This design was inspired by a gorgeous colorway dyed by A Hundred Ravens and named for a certain Game of Thrones character. Like her, mini skeins are small but mighty! Unlike a gradient skein, minis allow the knitter to control when and where the color changes. This design makes full use of this ability to create a stepped pattern that evokes stained glass.

Each block of contrast color uses about 50 yards of fingering-weight yarn (350 yards total). Colorful gradient minis are perfect; this project would also be a great use for leftover yarn bits. Both skeins of main color should be the same color -- sample used about 600 yards.

Mormont is worked seamlessly along the short edge, using intarsia techniques throughout. If you are new to intarsia, you may wish to research the technique and practice knitting a few swatches before beginning this project. Teaching intarsia technique is beyond the scope of this project.
