This is a crochet pattern for a mosasaurus, written in US crochet terminology. It is an advanced beginner level pattern. There are no complicated stitches but some previous experience of making amigurumi would be useful. Yarn weight is not important but make sure you use a hook small enough for the stuffing not to show through the stitches. The sample was made using Stylecraft Special DK yarn and a 3.25mm hook. I used 7.5mm safety eyes. Made using these materials your finished mosasaurus will be approximately 29cm long. You will also need stuffing, a yarn needle, a stitch marker or scrap of yarn. I used grey for the body, fins and spines, red for inside the mouth and white for the teeth. However, it’s hard to guess what colour these prehistoric sea creatures were so you can use any colours you like.
