Mossy hooded capelet crocheted using the extended moss stitch.
The gauge listed is 7 sts & 6 rows = 4 inches, but because the yarn/hook/stitch pattern is so big, I prefer to use 9 sts & 7 rows = 5 inches, to get the full pattern repeat for the gauge swatch.
I used this Premium K+C Knit and Crochet Alpaca yarn in “Green”. Using the green colorway really makes it look like moss.
This is a super bulky weight yarn, so you can use any bulky yarn you like. I ended up using 2 ½ balls of this yarn, which comes in 130 yards, so just keep that in mind if you use a different brand. Because this project is made using super bulky weight yarn, it works up really quickly, so it makes for a great last-minute gift.
If you like, you could sew buttons to the front when finished, but I opted for a brooch.
