Notes from the Designer:

Inspired by a shawl I made for my mom when I first learned to knit. Cozy and comfortable and oh-so easy to make, you’re sure to love working on this wrap. Not sure if you have enough yarn? Have no fear! Just stop when you run out or yarn or get bored working on it. Ahhhh… perfection!

  • Click here to watch a tutorial showing how to knit this pattern.
  • The pattern can be easily adjusted. To make it wider, CO additional stitches. To make it longer, add additional rows.
  • To make a scarf, cast on 28 stitches, and follow the pattern. On Row 10, purl until 7 stitches remain. You’ll need approximately two skeins of yarn.
  • To make a blanket, cast on 200 stitches, and follow the pattern. On Row 10, purl until 7 stitches remain. Depending on how large you want the blanket, you’ll need six to eight skeins.
  • The new color always begins on a Row 11 (all-knit row), with the two-color stripes composed of a Row 11 followed by a Row 10. This means you’ll have an all-knit row that’s followed by a knit-purl-knit row, and all the yarn switching/carrying will occur on the same edge throughout.
  • The first and last solid blocks are slightly longer than the inner three, as the first and last blocks include the garter stitch border and no extra stripes.
  • Carry the yarn loosely up the sides when working the color change rows.
