This design features a mothwing shape which drapes beautifully in folds. Like the wing of a moth this scarf is narrow at the neck and flares out into triangular shapes on each side. Mothwing is a great light weight scarf.

The pattern has alternating panels of garter stitch lace and ribbed stripes. It is knitted outward from the centre using basic techniques.
Try this pattern with thicker or thinner yarn, or omit the lace stitches but keep the rib stripes. This effect will accent the drape.
