This Bonnet pattern #46 made to fit newborn babies only with head circumference approximately 14” (35-36 cm).

You will need 1 oz of nice and soft angora DK (8 ply) yarn 100 yard approximately and 2 straight needles. You will aslo need a safety pin to hold 5 stitches while making the ears.
The pattern uses short rows for making the special “box” type of crown and very short rows for ears. They are knitted as a part of the whole bonnet, not attached afterwards.
The pattern has many detailed photos to help with tricky points.
I have a similar “box” shape simple pattern #51 if you are not confident you can tackle the ear part yet.
