A new take on a sock yarn blanket with a fun, modern look and the ability to use as much (or as little) of your fingering and DK weight mini skeins and scraps! This modular design requires minimal finishing, which makes it the perfect project to pick up and put down as you like! You can also alter the pattern to be a wrap or a scarf, so you can wear your scrappy creation with pride! Fair warning though, this is an absolutely addictive knit!

Why should you knit this scrappy blanket instead of the other fun ones here on Ravelry? Well…

  1. This pattern allows you to use every last yard of your precious scraps or mini skeins, so you don’t have any awkward leftovers!
  2. By weaving in ends as you knit, you won’t have to go back in and weave in all your ends at the end!
  3. The design is modern, fun, and colorful, and completely customizable!
  4. You don’t have to decide how big the blanket is when you begin, just start knitting!
  5. There is NO SEAMING, since the columns are joined as you knit!
  6. This pattern has instructions for fingering AND DK weight gauges, and if you don’t have a lot of DK weight scraps, you can always use fingering weight held double!
  7. The pattern looks fantastic in self striping and self patterning yarns, as well as lace weight mohair!

Needles:
Since this project is knit flat with a small number of stitches, double pointed needles, circulars, and straights are appropriate, so use your preference.

Fingering weight gauge: 9 sts and 12 rows=1” on a US size 2 (2.75 mm) needle
DK weight (fingering weight held double) gauge: 6 sts and 10 rows=1” on a US size 5 (3.75 mm) needle
Note: each column of chevrons is about 3” in width.

Suggestions for different size blankets, as well as wrap and scarf dimensions, are included in the pattern, but it is meant to allow you to use as much yarn as you prefer. This pattern is also easily customizable for accessories!
