This shawl will appear to change colours, to grow and shrink, depending on the angle the pattern is viewed from at any moment of time. As you walk around the person wearing the shawl it subtly shifts revealing and hiding the secondary colour while the dominant colour remains ever present. The colour choices you make have a massive influence on the final appearance of your shawl and I have tried to capture an example of this.

There is a video on my instagram page of the colour changes https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz53bfVhY5i/

This has been tested in cotton 4ply, and merino wool 4ply/fingering weight.

I used:
Colour A (background) 4ply 1000m/1100 yards
Cotton: 3 balls of 100g balls 4 ply yarn (I used Patons 100% cotton 4 ply in Navy)
Colours B and C (pattern) 4ply 280m/306 yards
Cotton: 1 balls of 50-100g

This style looks amazing using hand dyed merino wool if you want a more luxurious shawl

These stitches are tricky to get the hang of, so for the first rows with the pattern where there is 1 stitch of colour change, if you are struggling i would recommend starting with 3 stitches of the colour change instead!
