Obidos is an asymmetrical shawl that was designed in collaboration with 7th Floor Yarn. Amanda and Judy have a new yarn base aptly named Luscious Fingering, 80% Superwash Merino/20% Silk. The pattern uses two colors, one variegated and one tonal. The sample was knit in Intoxicating and Teal.

When regularly scheduled life resumes, I have an almost endless list of places that I would like to explore.  Portugal is high on the list - I am inspired by the country’s vibrant artwork and architecture.  The vivid colorways of 7th Floor Yarn and detailed stitch-work are my homage to the beauty of Portugal.

Alternating bands of garter stitch stripes, lace, elongated garter, and textured stitches make Obidos interesting to knit. Tables are included in the pattern to keep track of your rows and stitch count. The pattern is suitable for adventurous advanced beginners and up.

Measurements taken after blocking: Center depth: 31”/78.7cm x Wingspan: 61”/152.4cm

A special thanks to Amanda and Clea for testing the pattern, Anne for her help with formatting, my sister, Nancy, for creative input, and of course to Amanda and Judy for the opportunity to design with their beautiful yarn!
