Welcome to Oceanic Next!

Oceanic Next is a sideways knitted shawl in parallelogram shape. Rather long, it can be worn like a scarf or as a wrap around your shoulders. Main colour is knitted as garter stitch while contrast colours create undulating waves as in the ocean. This shawl is designed for two contrast colours that alternate but you can use any number of colours, including some leftovers from other projects.

Yarn

This shawl is knitted with fingering weight yarn. I used 100% wool Ro Dyeworks Corriedale Sock (400 m / 100 g).

There are three colours used:

MC (green): 95 g = 380 m (416 yd)

C1 (yellow): 10 g = 40 m (44 yd)

C2 (orange): 10 g = 40 m (44 yd)

One wave equals to approx. 2 g.

Needles

circular 5 mm needles = US 8

Gauge

20 sts × 24 rows (10 × 10 cm) in garter stitch after blocking

If you have 20g mini skeins as contrast colours, use one of them to knit the swatch.
