This shawl was inspired by all things soft and lovely. Originally knit and designed for someone special, it’s only fitting that it’s also named after her. Knit using a single ply lace weight yarn the lace is open and feminine, while the stockinette panels are drapey and provide wonderful coverage and warmth. I adore knitting lace work and wanted to keep it simple with only a center panel giving what would be a triangular shawl a softer, more rounded feel. Also, I absolutely loathe binding off. I wish you could just keep knitting forever and that the project would magically finish its self… in this case it does! The pattern incorporates a beautiful scalloped applied border. So, you are binding off the stitches of the shawl’s body as you knit the border.
