This gang of easy to knit farmyard friends would make lovely gifts. The trio include a cuddly plump Yorkshire pig, and her sheep and cow friends. They are knitted in acrylic DK yarns so that they are all easy to keep clean with play, and worked in stockinette and moss stitch.

You could even knit these in a chunky yarn on larger needles to make a set of adorable cuddly cushions.

IN THE PATTERN: The pattern has row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 7 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles, apart from the pig’s and cow’s tails which are i-cord tubes worked on two DPNs. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, and sew seams.

  • A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
  • DK yarn (double knitting or light worsted weight); less than 50g per colour
  • Toy filling
  • Buttons for eyes
