Originally designed as a Mystery Knit for the Mystery 220 More or Less Group for July, 2023.

Materials:

~60 grams of worsted weight yarn.
(If you prefer to knit with fingering yarn, you will need at least 20 grams. Your finished project will be smaller, but will be the perfect size for holding a cake of fingering yarn. Self striping sock yarn works great.)
~Size 6 needles. Use DPNs, Flexi Flips, long circular for magic loop, 9 or 10 inch circular, 2 circulars - or whatever you usually use for knitting in the round. (For fingering weight, use size 2 needles.)
~You will need 2 size 6 DPNs for I-cord. (Size 2 for fingering)
~Beginning of row marker (removable stitch marker)
~Waste yarn or 4 safety pins (at least 1 1/2”)
~Tapestry needle
~4 paper tags labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Skills: Pin Hole Cast On (optional), I-cord, Kitchener Stitch (optional) or Three Needle Bind Off

This Japanese Knot style bag is very useful for knitting on the go. While I don’t recommend hiking and knitting at the same time because of the danger of falling, this makes a great “grab and go” bag. Wear it over your wrist and you can knit while standing in line. It’s a great way to hold your yarn when knitting in the car, on a boat, on a train or subway, in a plane, on stadium bleachers, in a beach chair, sitting around a campfire, in a movie theater, at a doctor visit, and anywhere else where you don’t want your yarn to fall on the floor/ground and roll around.
Pack it with a simple project and hang it on your door knob, and you’ll be ready to grab it as you go out the door. You need never be without knitting again.
