Ophelia Owl is a fun and rather quick project that is great for gift knitting! It’s worked in the round and has only a small amount of seaming. This design can be made using any weight yarn to achieve a different sized owl from teeny tiny to oversized. Project ideas for customizing your owl are also provided.

YARN
MC - 80 yd / 73.15 m
CC - 80 yd / 18.25 m

Select two contrasting colors of the same yarn weight. See the ‘Variations’ section of this pattern for ideas on what weight yarn is ideal for the type of Ophelia Owl you’d like to make.

NEEDLES
Set of four double pointed needles (or use the needles you need for your preferred method of knitting in the round).

Choose needles that will knit up a fabric that won’t allow stuffing to poke through.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
stuffing (amount varies depending on the size owl you make)
darning needle
other materials as desired for customizing your Little Owl (see ‘Variations’ for ideas)

PACK LEVEL
Beta (Intermediate)

GAUGE
Not essential - just be sure your knit fabric is taught enough to not allow stuffing to poke through.

NOTES
I suggest reading through the entire pattern and review the charts before you begin knitting. There are a variety of options to consider when making this owl and it will be helpful to know them in advance.

I’ve also provided yarn details for my pattern samples as pictured at the end of this pattern.
