Afghans are so simple they are truly a pleasure to make. Patchwork
Afghans have the added advantage of being made up of small, very
portable pieces, which can easily be made on the move.

This pattern produces an Afghan which is an ideal size for a child’s
stroller or snuggle-blanket. It makes a great lap-blanket, perfect for
taking off the chill when you’re sitting outside watching the sunset.
It’s also great for extra warmth round your shoulders or knees on car
journeys. The size can be easily adjusted by making fewer or more squares. Just remember to allow for more yarn if you are making a larger blanket.

My pattern was knitted in Wensleydale Sheepshop natural aran yarn which I hand-dyed in 4 shades, with 2 x 100g balls in each of the 4 shades. It would work equally well in any aran/worsted weight yarn and of course you can choose to work in a single colour or as many shades as you wish!
