This is another bias-knit triangle with a nice k2, p2 ribbing pattern. It’s lighter-weight than the Link kerchief, and secures with basic grafting—the sametechnique you might use to close up sock toes.
If your gauge is close to the samples, this should work for average wearers as both a neckerchief or an ear warmer.

This .PDF makes one size, and starts with a provisional cast-on and work in the round. After that, it’s mostly flat until the finishing section.

Materials:

  • 132-170yds of soft fingering-weight wool (main sample shown in Malabrigo Yarn Sock, Candombe colorway)
  • 1 16” circular needles in US3/3.25mm, or size needed for gauge
  • scrap yarn for provisional cast-on
  • crochet hook for provisional cast-on
  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:
Gauge is 25 sts and 39 rows over 4”/10cm of stockinette stitch, worked flat and blocked lightly.

Measurements:
This kerchief measures 18(19)“/46(48)cm in circumference and 11(11.6)”/28(29)cm deep at its widest point. Note that because of the elasticity of the ribbing, and differences in blocking, these measurements may vary a little bit.
